Welcome to Trezor.io/start – Your Secure Crypto Setup Guide
Trezor.io/start is the official starting point for setting up your Trezor hardware wallet. Whether you’re new to cryptocurrency or upgrading your security, this guide will walk you through every step to get your device ready, protected, and fully functional. With Trezor, you stay in complete control of your digital assets—safely and offline.
1. Unbox and Inspect Your Trezor Device
After receiving your Trezor wallet, begin by checking that the packaging is sealed and the device shows no signs of tampering. Trezor devices come with holographic seals and secure packaging to ensure authenticity. If anything looks suspicious, contact Trezor Support before proceeding.
Your package should include:
Your Trezor device
USB cable
Recovery seed cards
Quick-start materials
Once everything looks correct, you’re ready to move on.
2. Visit Trezor.io/start
Open your browser and go to Trezor.io/start. This page ensures you download the latest official software, keeping your setup safe from fake or harmful applications. Select your device model—Trezor Model T or Trezor Model One—and follow the on-screen instructions.
You’ll be guided to install Trezor Suite, the all-in-one application for managing your crypto, checking balances, making transactions, and adjusting security settings.
3. Install and Open Trezor Suite
Download Trezor Suite for Windows, macOS, or Linux. Once installed, launch the app and connect your Trezor device using the provided USB cable. Trezor Suite will automatically detect your device and prompt you to begin the setup.
If a firmware update is required, you’ll be asked to install it. Always install updates directly through Trezor Suite, as they provide the latest security improvements.
4. Create Your New Wallet
Click “Create new wallet.” You’ll be guided through generating your recovery seed, which is the most important part of your setup.
Your recovery seed:
Is a 12, 18, or 24-word backup
Allows you to restore your wallet if your device is lost or damaged
Must be written down and kept offline, safe, and private
Never take photos, screenshots, or store it digitally—treat it like the keys to your entire crypto portfolio.
5. Secure Your Wallet
After writing down your recovery seed, Trezor Suite will help you add layers of protection:
PIN Code: Blocks unauthorized access to your device
Passphrase (optional): Adds another level of security for advanced users
Hidden wallets: Additional privacy when needed
Your wallet is now protected on both the hardware and software level.
6. Start Managing Your Crypto
Once setup is complete, you can:
Send and receive cryptocurrency
Track your portfolio
Buy, sell, or exchange crypto through supported partners
Enable advanced security features
Connect to supported apps and DeFi platforms
